Maywald’s research for Bodacious: Master of Disaster draws on extensive primary-source interviews with world champion bull riders, stock contractors, bullfighters, family members, and others who witnessed the story firsthand.

Selected interview subjects include Jim Sharp, Cody Custer, Clint Branger, Bubba Dunn, Tuff Hedeman, Sammy Andrews, Rob Smets, Joe Baumgartner, and many others whose firsthand accounts provide the foundation for this work of narrative nonfiction.
